Our methods

We pride ourselves on our clinical excellence and our ambition to deliver a new system of healthcare to empower our clients to be in control of their own health. We consider all the systems of the body and how they interact with an emphasis on the microbiome. We succeed when we discover the root causes of our clients suffering and put them on the road to lasting recovery.

Rob

Functional MEdicine Practitioner

As the Founder and Lead Clinician at the London Centre for Functional Medicine, I practise an evidence-based approach that not only addresses symptoms but seeks to understand and correct the underlying factors contributing to health imbalances.

My work with patients is grounded in the Functional Medicine model, with nutrition at the core of every protocol. I have a deep belief in nutritional medicine and have seen firsthand how profoundly it can transform lives.

I have worked in this field for over 25 years, both as a patient and a practitioner, and firmly believe that the Functional Medicine model represents the future of healthcare for lifestyle-related diseases and their associated conditions. I also believe it serves as an important conduit to help relieve pressure on the NHS, allowing conventional medicine to focus on acute care where it is most effective.

Like many practitioners, my journey into this profession was shaped by my own health challenges. I have personally overcome chronic Candida, parasitic and SIBO infections (at different times), as well as issues related to heavy metals, mould, and oxalate toxicity. I have truly “walked the walk” and understand what it feels like to be extremely unwell while desperately trying to regain health as quickly as possible. This allows me to deeply empathise with patients who come to the clinic having explored multiple routes, including conventional medicine, often with limited success.

I am passionate about helping patients achieve optimal health through a fully personalised approach. This may involve exploring genetics, nutrition, lifestyle factors, toxin exposure, infections, and stress. By examining these areas, we can identify the root cause of imbalance and apply the most appropriate modality to restore health. This approach contrasts with conventional symptom-focused care, where unresolved root causes can lead to symptoms reappearing elsewhere in the body over time.

I treat a wide range of conditions affecting multiple body systems, with a particular focus on gut and digestive disorders, including SIBO, IBS, IBD, GERD, Candida, autoimmune and mould-related illness, as well as chronic fatigue. I believe many health issues ultimately trace back to the microbiome, and that creating the right internal “terrain” is essential for optimal health. Liver and gallbladder health is a special area of interest for me, as these organs act as a gateway to systemic health yet often receive insufficient attention.

I strongly believe in the importance of balance in life. Outside of clinical practice, I am passionate about squash, cooking, and football. I have won Irish and British National Squash titles, competed in European and World Squash Championships, and continue to play at a competitive level within my age group.

Functional Medicine Nutritionist

I am a qualified Functional Medicine Practitioner, Nutritional Therapist and Naturopath specializing in Womens Health and Hormonal Balance.

Drawing from my personal journey of overcoming hormonal imbalances I possess a deep understanding of the challenges and complexities that women face when it comes to hormonal health, making my approach relatable and empathetic.

My approach is rooted in the principles of Functional Medicine and scientifically backed nutritional advice. Unlike fleeting diet trends and quick-fix solutions, I provide a personalized approach that focuses o addressing the root causes of health issues rather than merely alleviating symptoms. By delving into the underlying imbalances, I help women achieve sustainable and long-lasting results.

To comprehensively assess hormone imbalances at every stage of reproduction, from pre-menopause to post-menopause, I employ advanced tools such as DUTCH Complete and DUTCH Cycle mapping. For those seeking a deeper understanding and a more personalized approach, I offer an in-depth exploration of hormonal health through the combination of the DUTCH test, gut microbiome analysis, and Nutrigenomics. This comprehensive approach targets the underlying causes of hormonal imbalances at their root, providing effective and tailored solutions.

My expertise is backed by extensive studies in female hormone science and advanced certifications, including intensive Dutch hormone training with expert Dr. Carrie Jones. I have also been mentored by a DUTCH test laboratory consultant, further deepening my understanding and knowledge of this diagnostic tool.

In addition to working directly with clients, I collaborate with fellow practitioners, providing guidance in interpreting DUTCH test results for their patients.

If you are struggling with symptoms of hormonal imbalance PMS, acne, weight gain, PCOS or navigating perimenopause and menopause, I am here to provide effective solutions and guide you towards regaining your overall wellbeing.
